Meeting Place – Gene Upstill Farm
Welcome \ Introductions:
Don kicked the meeting off with a welcome to everyone. Our guest was Chris Foreman, Henry’s dad. He’d brought in flyers about the Nevada Historical Tractor ride which will be held in Sept., since Henry was called away to work at the last minute.
Pay your annual dues now, we’re over half way through the year so it’s time to pay if you haven’t.
Presenters are needed for 2018. Please contact Tim and let him know if you have ideas.
Treasure Report: Gilbert Days brought in $300 at the ice cream donation can and after paying for the ice cream supplies we had money left. The city and the fire department took care of kybo payments this year. We now have over $1,000 in the bank.
Bob thanked all who helped out at Gilbert Days, Steve who helped with the tractor line up, Kim who was in charge of the kiddie tractor pull, plus all the other helpers which included the Fire department. The fire department watered down the track for the tractor pulls and it was much appreciated. Bob suggested we donate $250 to the Gilbert Fire Department for their help and all the water they had to use. The club approved the donation. Al will send the check.
Bethany Manor reminder to bring tractors from 11-1pm, August 14th. Gather in the small lot on the NW side of the building. Should it rain the event will be canceled.
McCallsburg Feed provided the corn. It was suggested and approved the tractor club will make a $50.00 donation to the Lions Club since the corn came shucked, cleaned and ready to roast.
Kim provided information about 40 acres, formerly in peas. The peas were hailed out and now it’s all grass, which we could use for a plow day. The plow day could be anytime now. It was determined there is interest and during the Sept. meeting we’ll set a date.
Farm Progress Show is August 28-30th.
South Hamilton High School is holding a Silent Auction for 3 tractors. It will be held Aug. 16th from 4-7 pm.
For Sale and Wish List:
We enjoyed great sweet corn, bologna, side dishes, chips and lots of desserts. It was perfect weather for eating out that evening and everyone had a great time looking at Gene’s car and tractor collection. His shop was full of even more cars and memorabilia. He had perfect spot to set up tables and chairs so we could eat and observe his collection at the same time. Everyone had a great time and wonderful meal.
